Summerland 2012 Tour at Meadowbrook Farm / Us Cellular Pavillion, Mohegan Sun

March 27th, 2012

Imagine all your favorite late 90′s rock bands on one stage. Does the bill in your head look reminiscent of the following, minus Hootie?

Though Gin Blossoms have been gigging a fair bit in the Boston area the past few years, it’s rare to see some of these bands outside their home turf. I’ve actually been waiting for Everclear to come anywhere near New England for a while now. Last year, Alex Alexakis did a few solo shows in MA and RI, but not as everclear. It’s rare to see them gig so far outside their Southern California circuit. Sugar Ray‘s been on the college circuit for a bit, but they’re not really a band I ever wanted to see on their own. A big plus, since there’s so many bands, is that we won’t have to sit through too many b-sides. We’ll be hearing all the hits we cruised to in my 1996 Ford Taurus station wagon. (Don’t knock it, that baby had leather seats).

The tour, which also includes Lit and Marcy Playground, is hitting 25 cities across the US. More info on cities and dates on Summerlandtour.net.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 30th at 11am for Meadowbrook (get them here) and Friday,  April 13 at 10am(?) for Mohegan Sun (get them here). Both are Sunday July shows.

Each is about 2 hours away from Boston, but for an opportunity like this, we’re making a weekend of it.

SAWEET.
